Approximately 25,000 homes in south-east Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems impacted the region, generating powerful gusts reaching 109km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Broad Impact
Homeowners observed giant hailstones as large as 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that various areas across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Response teams were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews working to address the extensive power failures.
Victorian Weather Woes
Meanwhile, nearly one thousand energy customers in the southern state also encountered energy failures after the capital city experienced its most precipitation in 18 months.
State Emergency Services responded to over five hundred emergency reports across the area, mainly for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

At the height on yesterday, over 28,000 electricity consumers in Victoria were without power.
Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along large portions of eastern Queensland this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coast.
The following day was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both regions.

Public health experts warned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, especially given the current weather patterns.
